Freetown Conservation Commission Continues Pier Hearing Over Notice Failures
FREETOWN — April 24, 2023 — Freetown Conservation Commission continued a pier-repair hearing over dual notice failures and ratified a one-year permit extension for Lamb's Village. The commission voted unanimously at its April 24 meeting to push the public hearing for 30 Island Road Extension to May 8, after staff coordinator Victoria disclosed that abutters had not been fully notified and that the in-house public hearing notice was not posted on time; the applicants, trustees Matthew J. Ritta and Jackie L. Hill of Quay Realty Trust, are seeking approval for reconstruction of concrete piers and surrounding patios through their representative Catherine C. Ricks of Coastal Engineering Company Inc. The board also unanimously ratified a previously rushed vote granting a one-year extension of order of conditions for the Lamb's Village development on East Chippeway Road, and rescinded the appointment of Jonathan Rocha as gatekeeper after his schedule prevented him from fulfilling the role.
