Freetown Conservation Commission Approves Four Wetlands Determinations at November Meeting
FREETOWN -- November 27, 2023, Freetown Conservation Commission cleared four wetlands cases and issued a certificate of compliance at its November 27 meeting. The three-member board, Chair Charlie Sullivan, Margaret French, and Chris Mather, unanimously approved negative determinations under criterion three of the Wetlands Protection Act for properties on Algonquin Way, 49 Winfield Street, and 1 Ross Circle, with the Ross Circle approval conditioned on a properly staked silt sock installation. The board also approved plans as submitted for a home addition and detached garage at 4 Hereon Avenue and issued a long-deferred certificate of compliance for 46 Bartle Road after the commission's new full-time clerk tracked down the unresolved file. Sullivan disclosed that the clerk Victoria's salary is funded entirely through the Planning Board's budget, "kind of interesting," he said, and said the commission would discuss pursuing a dedicated conservation agent when the budget is reviewed at the December 11 meeting.
