Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of February 4, 2026
FREETOWN — Zoning Board amends Chace Road farm occupancy certificate with strict operational limits. The Board voted unanimously to replace a 90-day temporary occupancy permit issued by the Building Commissioner with a permanent amended certificate capping delivery trucks at 110 per week, allowing no sale of processed material except for donations not exceeding 35 one-ton pickups weekly, and limiting hours to 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
Applicant John Mello, represented by attorney Anthony Riley, appealed the original truck restriction of 20 per day. The Board also continued the appeal of Geoffrey Baylies over an unpermitted business at 16 Locust Street to March 4 and unanimously approved the Zoning Board's FY 2027 budget.
