Selectmen approve police vehicle surplus, seasonal snow shoveler position

Freetown Board of Selectmen approve seasonal snow shoveler position at $20 hourly wage. The board unanimously approved the job description and payrate in response to recent winter storms, with Town Administrator Deborah L. Pettey noting the need for additional seasonal capacity.

The board also declared four police vehicles surplus, authorizing three for auction on MuniciPid with a minimum $1,000 bid each and one to scrap; approved a wage adjustment memorandum of agreement with Public Employees' Union Local 272 for the Highway Department Head Mechanic; and approved four personnel appointments including Andrew Simmons as Head Mechanic effective February 5, 2026.
