Planning Board continues hearings; approves minor site plan on Locust Street

FREETOWN — Planning Board approves minor site plan for Locust Street business. The Board voted unanimously to approve Geoffrey Baylies' Minor Site Plan Review for 16 Locust Street following testimony from Building Commissioner Carl Bizarro that the applicant had made substantial improvements after a cease-and-desist order. Three applications represented by Zenith Consulting Engineers requested continuance to June to ensure full Board participation: Site Plan Review for 170 Middleboro Road (six contractor bays), Special Permit for 186 Middleboro Road (manufacturing building), and Form C Subdivision for 71 High Street (two-lot residential).
The Board opened and continued a hearing on proposed Zoning Bylaw amendments, including a new Battery Energy Storage System Bylaw for Industrial Districts, scheduled for the June 1, 2026 Annual Town Meeting. David Crose and Steven Tripp were unanimously reappointed to municipal committees through June 30, 2027.
