Freetown Planning Board continues two special permit hearings and approves solar extension. Chairman Chad S. Carvalho oversaw continuances to January 20, 2026, for commercial composting and recycling special permits at Beech Bluff Farm on Chace Road, and continued a 170 Middleboro Road contractor bay site plan review to February 3 pending Apex Engineering assessment.
The board unanimously approved a three-year extension for a large-scale solar project at Quarry Drive contingent on $3,900 engineering review of the decommissioning bond. An Approval Not Required subdivision at 87 High Street creating two buildable lots was unanimously approved. The board discussed proposed Battery Energy Storage System, Water Resource Protection, and Commercial Recycling and Composting bylaws for spring town meeting.
