Planning Board (Town of Freetown) · Meeting of September 10, 2026
FREETOWN — Planning Board backed Master Plan implementation committee. Town Planner Nancy Durfee cautioned the board that the 2024 Master Plan risks becoming inactive without an active committee to track and advance recommendations for a new library, central administration building, senior and workforce housing, historic preservation, and economic development. The board voted unanimously to recommend the committee's formation to the Select Board.
In other business, the board unanimously approved an amendment to the Site Plan Review Rules and Regulations to include the state's new clean energy infrastructure permitting pathway, effective October 1, 2026. The board heard informal presentations on a proposed subdivision at 32 North Main Street and discussed a property use conflict at 31 Mill Street, referring the latter matter to the Building Commissioner.
