Freetown assessors impose advance-payment requirement for abutters lists to stem abandoned requests. The Board of Assessors voted 2-0 to charge property owners $10 upfront for abutters lists, responding to a surge in monthly requests that many requesters never retrieve. The board also unanimously approved a tax abatement for vacant County Road land (Map 245, Lot 82) covering years 2001-2011, and issued a procedural reminder to Braley Road Solar 4, LLC for failing to provide required advance notice of a July management transfer under its Payment In Lieu of Taxes agreement.
