Freetown Finance Committee approves $225,316 in transfers and grants Chair signature authority. Members unanimously authorized Margaret M. French to sign approved transfer paperwork without additional committee steps, then voted to approve a $90,000 reserve fund transfer for Town Properties and Facilities and five interdepartmental transfers totaling $135,316.40.
The transfers covered emergency demolition of a fire-damaged Water Street structure, legal fees related to New Bedford waterline flooding negotiations, dispatcher overtime after staffing loss, and Tax Title legal expenses that exceeded budget.
