FREETOWN — Finance Committee appoints Craig Cabral to a one-year term in 7-1 vote. The joint Finance Committee-Board of Selectmen meeting approved Cabral's appointment on April 14, with Finance Committee member Lisa Pacheco as the sole dissenter. The committee also reviewed fiscal 2027 budgets, with Police Chief Scott Rose reporting the 21-officer department received a $150,000 state body-camera grant but will need $10,500 annually for cloud storage in years 2-5; trash collection costs will rise $30,000 for PFAS well testing after detection in four wells near the Transfer Station.
