Council on Aging (Town of Freetown) · Meeting of May 6, 2026

Freetown Council on Aging positions outreach worker as full-time staff, pending Town Meeting. Director Rebecca Frias reported the Board of Selectmen and Finance Committee appear to favor funding Kylie Botelho's transition from Community Program coordinator to full-time Outreach Worker through formula grant dollars, subject to voter approval at the June 1 Town Meeting. The Council reviewed budget status, noting 55,000 dollars remaining from the exhausted earmark secured by Rep Fiola and 270,000 dollars in combined FY25 and FY26 formula grant funds available for services and programming.

The Council also discussed an expanded Capital partnership with the Freetown Public Library to address current ADA accessibility gaps, though members expressed concerns about design suitability and tax impacts on residents.
