Board of Selectmen (Town of Freetown) · Meeting of September 21, 2026

Freetown Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to set the traffic controller pay rate consistent with the police union's detail officer rate, currently $72 per hour rising to $75 in fiscal year 2027. Police Chief noted that Freetown's rate lags comparable towns: Acushnet pays $90 hourly, Berkeley approximately $82 to $83 hourly. The Board also unanimously approved the November 3 State Election Warrant and waived the 120-day regulatory notice period for the Department of Conservation and Recreation to acquire approximately 18 acres on Assessors' Map 210, Lot 108, enabling the land deal to proceed within DCR's annual funding window.

The Board appointed Rebecca Swanson as Election Worker and approved softball field irrigation installation.
