Board of Assessors reorganizes; Sadeck elected chair

Freetown Board of Assessors reorganizes with Sadeck as chair. Melissa Motta continues as the board's Tax Increment Financing Board designee; Mike McCue is unanimously reappointed as Assistant Assessor through June 30, 2027. The board unanimously designated five parcels to "Owners Unknown" for fiscal year 2027, located in the Bolton Cedar Swamp area and off Braley Road.
In executive session, the board denied assessment application OL4 for 136 South Main Street in Assonet and approved abatement of several old personal property tax accounts deemed uncollectible.
