Board approves $90,000 facilities reserve transfer
Board of Selectmen · Meeting of May 18, 2026
Freetown Board of Selectmen approves $90,000 reserve fund transfer for facilities. Town Administrator Deborah L. Pettey attributed the transfer to a $30,000 emergency electrical panel repair at Town Hall and elevated electricity costs across municipal facilities, including approximately $72,000 in Police Department power expenses against a $52,000 budget.
The Board also awarded FY27 roadway materials contracts to three vendors as lowest qualified bidders: Saltine Warrior, Inc. for highway salt, Pro Finish Lines Co. for road striping, and All States Construction, Inc. for chip sealing. Netrospect LLC was approved for IT Support Services at $140 per hour with extended 45-day termination notice periods, and a $7,700-$7,800 land survey proposal from Merrill Engineers for the South Main Street Bridge project was approved. The Board implemented a 2 percent cost-of-living increase for Call Fire Department pay rates effective July 1, 2026.
