Freetown selectmen approve $34.7 million FY27 budget with school-assessment reduction. Town Administrator Deborah L. Pettey secured board approval for the $34,773,562.50 Fiscal 2027 Omnibus Budget following a $90,000 reduction in the school assessment based on updated state figures.
The board finalized both Annual and Special Town Meeting Warrants for June 1, making corrections to moderator compensation from $190 to $185 per meeting and removing "recommended by" language from a citizens petition. Selectmen also approved amendments to Pettey's contract correcting the automobile allowance from $500 annually to $500 monthly.
