FREETOWN — Board of Selectmen appoints two sergeants following extended screening. Selectmen unanimously promoted Patrick R. Lee (effective May 27) and Douglas B.
Mongeon (effective May 28) from a four-candidate pool; formal swearing-in set for June 15. The Board also unanimously approved recoating the oldest section of Freetown Elementary School roof and repairing water damage, planning to apply for grant funding for windows and doors in January 2027. A settlement agreement with Vareika Construction, Inc. was announced, resolving a contract disagreement without new monetary impact.
The Board approved a $185 transfer from Parking Clerk Stipend to Moderator Salary.
